I just got finished cleaning my youngest son’s room. I couldn’t take it anymore. I went up there to drop off his laundry and his room was just disgusting. Some of you may remember this post last month about the ants in his room. It wasn’t that bad this time, but well on it’s way if I hadn’t intervened.

I know some of you are thinking if I didn’t pick up after him he wouldn’t be such a slob. Or if I made him pick it up himself he would try to be cleaner. WRONG! He would live in filth, he just doesn’t care. He truly doesn’t! He is more concerned with his skateboarding and his guitar. The only person bothered by his room is me.

Like you…I wait until I can’t take it anymore…then I do it myself.

I don’t allow food in their rooms and other than that I try to stay out! If I have to go in for any reason they usually end up at least clearing a safety path!

Shut the door. When he’s feeling poor and looking for jobs to do to earn a little cash, I tell him that there’s a whole list waiting to be done AFTER he cleans his room - and there’s no cash for cleaning the sty.

I would shut the door and ignore it until it got really bad, then I’d clean it and bitch him out the entire time until we both felt like shit.

Does that help? ROFL!

Now he’s neat thank God!!!! I thought this day would never come.
