Good girls have diaries... Bad girls have blogs!What is this…the 5th season…the 6th??? I got so into this show during the Kelly Clarkson era that I thought there could never EVER be a better winner than she was. I remember being just blown a-freaking-way by her (and I still do when I watch her perform). But where on earth have these contestants been hiding?
WOW!
Taylor Hicks is the next American Idol! I sat here on my bed CLAPPING when he was done with his performance as if I was sitting in the Pasadena Civic Auditorium watching him live. I got soooo excited during his interview when he said he was going to sing Levon and I immediately recognized it as an Elton John song.
I’ll really be showing my age now, but that album was one of my favorites growing up. The sound of Elton’s voice coming from that scratchy, dust clogged needle on the vinyl…Levon, Tiny Dancer…OMG! He picked one of the greatest songs EVER.

phlegmfatale on 22 February, 2006 at 11:31 pm Taylor Hicks is amazing and is easily my favorite. Paris rocks, too – her performance was so energizing. Mandisa was amazing singing that Heart song – when last Idol’s winner sang that Heart song “Alone” I thought it was skin-crawlingly bad – she just didn’t have the chops for such a demanding piece of music, and her thin textureless voice sounded woefully flawed in that setting. Mandisa on the other hand, can sing the crap out of a Heart song, and that is really saying a lot. I hope she, Paris or Taylor wins it.
I think I’ll vote for Taylor “The Tick” Hicks!!!

Ok, I hate AI. Until this year. I so love that Paris girl. She is just a doll. And Taylor, hello! Not sure if he is final round material for THIS show, but he is awesome.

My favorite moment was when they were introducing everyone as they were coming in and everyone else waved or did some kind of gesture, but he just palsy’d up and did a twitch/schiavo pose.
