It’s 11:43PM and I just got to sit down after coming home from work. I baked 3 pies, a pumpkin pie, a pecan pie, and a peach pie. I also baked a brownie cheesecake. I prepared the blue cheese and port wine log, and it’s setting in the refrigerator. I swigged a few glasses of port during preparation. Shhhhh… Okay it wasnt suppose to be a cheese log, but the consistency was so thick that Michael suggested I form it into a log in wax paper and roll it in walnuts in the morning. That works for me. Plus the port made me want to just go with whatever happened. HAHAHA!
Since we are deep frying our turkey I had a dilemma on how to make gravy. So over the weekend we deep fried a small turkey and I used that to boil tonight for the turkey “drippings. The broth turned out so flavorful and I think its going to be wonderful in the gravy and the stuffing.
Michael finished cleaning the downstairs. (I did the loft and the upstairs bedrooms last Sunday) He cleaned the guest bathroom also. He spent the rest of the evening playing WOW and tasting my spatulas filled with the goodness of our Thanksgiving dinner.
The boyz are in California at their aunt and uncles house with their father, his girlfriend, and two year old daughter. It seems so quiet around the house, but in a way it is nice. This is only Michael and I second time in a year that weve been here without the boyz. We love them to death, but it really is a relaxing kick back evening for a change.
So its Thanksgiving Day now, and I am thankful for many things. I am thankful for the love I have in my life. I am thankful for the wonderful people that I can call friends. I am thankful for my beautiful house that feels so comfortable and wonderfully like home. I am thankful for the higher-ups at my job that have faith in me, and I am thankful for my parents. I am also thankful for the most best ever boyz in the world.
I am most thankful for the freedom I have to be Julie. Being Julie is one of the best ever things in the world. And there are so many factors to mention to be thankful for being, letting, allowing, and appreciating Julie.
So I will just say a HUGE generic THANKS to everyone. Happy Thanksgiving!
Shhh!! I thought we were going to keep the pre-thanksgiving turkey a secret!?!
I love you baby! I give thanks to all you bring to my life
Happy Thanksgiving, Julie and Michael!
Ummm… the boyz dad has a 2-year-old? Or his girlfriend does? How gossipy is that of me??
I hope you had a wonderful thanksgiving together!
Happy Thanksgiving (a bit late)
