This is the second weekend now that we’ve gone camping. Michael is the camping guru and has camped all his life…(read dorky Boy Scout). He has had all the equipment ever since I knew him, but we just never went. And now I am hooked! This time I even dragged him to REI to get some things I wanted for our camp site. Like this. I got two of them, and they are my favorite part of camping!
Last weekend we took the boyz with us. They are the greatest kids ever, but DAMNIT, they argued and fought the entire trip! OMG! I’m sitting in the passenger seat thinking…pull the car over Michael, I am going to choke them, and he is just driving, looking around at the scenery, bright eyed and smiling. He is a great calming factor in my life plus he keeps my kids breathing. HA!
This time it was just the two of us. I had the most amazing time EVER! Michael cooked carne asada like the good Mexican he is..HA! It was wonderful! We spent the rest of the night sitting around the campfire talking…looking at the stars…talking…cuddling…talking…kissing…hugging…
This morning we packed the car up and decided to check out the other campgrounds. We picked out a few really good sites that we want to camp at in the future and he logged the locations on his GPS for future camping adventures.
Before going home we drove up to the top of the mountain and had lunch. We were all bundled up from sleeping in a tent and it was hella hot inside the lodge. We requested a table outside on the deck since the cold breeze would feel good. As we ate, we held onto our food so it wouldn’t blow away in the wind…all along laughing and giggling. Our waiter, who was TOTALLY out of his realm was not a happy camper! We joked about him possibly being in the Witness Relocation Program, with his heavy Tony Soprano accent. He was not happy that he was assigned the windy deck. We tipped him well and went on our way.
Michael will forever be this amazing person who shows me new things, and teaches me what life is really about. Thank you darling for making all my dreams come true!

Damn kids, lol.
I love camping and am jealous of you! I thought for sure I’d go again this summer. Sounds like a great time and great company.

You’re so sweet baby! I love how you let me do what I need to do, from packing everything to setting up the site to starting the camp fire!
So you want to get hitched up on Hilltop, site 18? It has such a wonderful view and it’s so beautiful up there! I promise that there will be no ranchero music playing in the background, well, at least not during the ceremony. hehehehe!!!

Michael’s gooood. I was going to ask the same thing. Is this the mountain you wanted to get married on top of?
I’m glad you guys got to get away. I hate camping, personally, but maybe would enjoy it more with just Paul…

For me, Michael will always be the guy to whom if you gave something, he would probably eat it on a dare. In that way, he always showed us new and exciting things in the old SoftDev room too I guess.
